First Impressions
Obi-Wan is smooth, charming, and always just a little bit tired. He has a full beard and a seemingly constantly furrowed brow, which is rapidly becoming a permanent line on his face. He looks a little bit like Ewan McGregor, and a little but like a young Alec Guiness, and a little bit not like them.
Obi-Wan speaks in a carefully controlled neutral accent. He may slip into his native Stewjonian on occasion, but it's probably not going to happen. His voice is calm, level, and occasionally it's hard to tell exactly how sarcastic he's being.
In most situations he is wearing brown and tan robes, including a tunic that comes to just above the knee over trousers, and a wide leather belt, which carries a few pouches, and from which is always hanging a complex metal tube - his lightsaber.
In certain circumstances Obi-Wan may also be wearing armour over the top of his robes. This takes the form of white plastoid (think vacuum-formed plastic) plates on his feet calves, arms, shoulders and/or chest. If his shoulders, then his left pauldron also bears the logo of the Jedi order - a sword rising from wings with a star shining from the hilt.
Obi-Wan Kenobi feels safe to be around. Trustworthy, kind. The kind of person you might like to be friends with. This is way more noticeable if you happen to be psychic and sensitive to that kind of impression.
On a psychic level, apart from the general presence of goodness and light mentioned, Obi-Wan is a hard read. Nothing but what he chooses to project comes through, so there are no passive thoughts and trying to read his mind is like trying to get a grip on a completely frictionless surface. Too much training and natural ability in play. To magic users, he probably doesn't come across as anything special, unless your magic is based on something Chi or Ether based, in which case you might detect his presence if appropriate to your magic.
Powers
As a trained Jedi Master, Obi-Wan has mastery over the Force, that vague and nebulous substances which flows through all things, holds the universe together, blah blah blah. This means he's got vague and nebulous superpowers which include:
- telekinesis He can float small objects around, might use it to pull out a chair. However, Obi-Wan is much more likely to use this to move himself. With the Force, he can pull off Force leaps several times his own height.
- empathy This is Obi-Wan's particular strength. Not only does he have a pretty good sense of how you're feeling, but he can influence the way you are feeling or thinking. He's particularly adept at the old "Jedi Mind Trick," and will use it if it's the easy way out.
- animal affinity An extension of his empathic abilities, Obi-Wan is exceptionally good with animals. He can stop wild beasts from attacking, summon a giant bird if he falls out of spaceships (which actually happens more than he likes), or just get on really really well with banthas.
- clairvoyance other Jedi are gifted with visions and a sense of the future. Obi-Wan does not have the deep affinity that others had, but he does have super fast reflexes - he can see things coming just before they actually do. So he can dodge or deflect blaster bolts, catch things he shouldn't see coming, and generally just appear to have lightning speed.
- force healing It is possible to draw on ones own life force to aid and speed the healing of another. Obi-Wan can do this, but medical science being what it is in his galaxy, you won't see him do it often.
More Info about the Force here
Obi-Wan's other major strength is in lightsaber combat - specifically he is the master of a specific form of defensive combat which makes it very very hard to place a hit, as his strength is to turn aggressive attacks against the wielder. This includes blaster or other projectile combat, which he is able to deflect, but doesn't provide much defence agains the use of force powers in combat.
